THE HELLENIC MARINE TECHNICAL
CONSULTANTS ASSOCIATION (HMTCA) was established officially in 1984 to provide a forum to
exchange ideas among fully experienced and independent naval
architects, marine engineers and technical consultants.
Other objectives of the Association are to contribute
to the development of technology in the Greek ocean
transportation
industry, to provide expert representation of the Greek
shipping community in its relationships with shipyards,
insurers,
financial institutions, classification societies, national
and international authorities, maritime courts and arbitrations
and to promote its activities within the European Community.
The Association was also founded to let the wider international
shipping community know of the availability of its members
to provide services worldwide.
To help promote the above goals the Association joined
in 1991 the Federation of European Maritime Associations
of
Surveyors and Consulting Engineers (FEMAS), and in
2005 the newly founded Piraeus Association for Maritime
Arbitration. |
